In both cases, the disc IS subject to a turnover, and the definition of the state of the disc says this.

Having said that, the disc does not need to be "checked in" on the end line, just simply touched to the ground after the pivot has been set here. (You've used the term, "check", which is not required.)

So, what this person has done is committed a "travel" because they haven't set their pivot where they're supposed to have, and/or haven't touched the disc down when required (going from live to in-play).

After a travel call, a turfed throw remains a turnover.Mortakaihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01502285957707157947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9075032755383655184.post-56557669408695204432007-06-22T10:58:00.000-06:002007-06-22T10:58:00.000-06:00Continuation rule situation:Our team turns it over...Continuation rule situation:

Our team turns it over in our own endzone, the opposing team picks up the disc, fails to backup and check it on the endline, and makes an incomplete pass.

We called it a Turn-Over, but the opposing team claimed that because the disc wasn't "in play" the continuation rule didn't apply.
